Daniel M. Kindbergh
As Senior Vice President of Operations, Daniel M. Kindbergh oversees the operations of Brookfield’s 57 million square foot U.S. portfolio. He has not only extensive experience in portfolio and property management, but expertise and accomplishment in accounting and administration as well. He has brought these to bear throughout his affiliation with Brookfield and its predecessor company, Olympia & York, since he joined in 1988.
Brookfield’s portfolio located in New York, Washington DC, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Seattle and Boston, has been the recipient of many awards and achievements during Dan’s leadership including NAREIT’s “Leader in the Light” in 2012, the real estate industry’s highest environmental achievement. Under Dan’s leadership, Brookfield has also been recognized in the BOMA 360 Program and the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB).
On September 11, 2001, Brookfield’s Lower Manhattan properties, located adjacent to the World Trade Center, sustained significant damage. Dan oversaw the restoration of these buildings where tenants began re-entering their spaces some 40 days later.
In 2006, he led the integration efforts when Brookfield acquired Trizec, serving as the IMO, Integration Management Officer.
Dan has provided leadership over many other critical events in Brookfield’s history including recovery from Hurricane Ike, Occupy Wall Street, and Super-storm Sandy.
At Brookfield, his positions have included various levels of property management. He was controller of the World Financial Center Division from 1988 to 1996.
Prior to Brookfield, Dan was Vice President with Hutton Real Estate Services, Inc. from 1983 to 1988, responsible for the administration of publicly and privately placed commercial real estate limited partnerships in which EF Hutton & Company served as general partner.
Before this he was a public accountant at the international firm Pannell Kerr Foster for whom he performed audits for companies primarily in real estate and hospitality.
Dan holds a BBA - Business Administration in Public Accounting - from Hofstra University. He was licensed as a CPA in 1982.
